Programme Outline

Would you like the chance to speak to another parent who understands how difficult it can be? The volunteer family support project can help you build your confidence in your own parenting skills. Volunteers are trained to offer a listening ear and help you develop a better relationship with your child.

Volunteers can offer support to help you:

  • Understand how you can support your child’s emotional development and learning

  • Build your child’s confidence and self-esteem

  • Understand the importance of play

  • Find out what is available for you and your child in your local community

  • Have someone to talk to and share your worries with

  • Help you to communicate better with your child

The volunteer family support project is here to offer confidential one to one support from another parent.

If you feel you are struggling to cope and would like to feel more in control and confident in your role as a parent and get support which is:

  • Informal

  • Regular

  • Individual to your needs

  • Confidential

  • Non judgemental

  • Empowering

  • Fun

All parents need support at times get in touch if you would like more information.
