The Homelessness Services forms part of the Housing Development and Homelessness Service within the department of Housing and Employability. The team is made up of 38 officers who provide services to those “homeless” or “threatened” with homelessness across West Dunbartonshire. Services are provided from our offices at Sylvania Way South, Clydebank, Bridge Street ,Dumbarton, Mitchell Way, Alexandria and form Ashton View Dumbarton. An out of hours service is provided to deal with emergencies that arise during the night, public holidays and at weekends.

• To prevent homelessness through advice and support

• To assess housing and support needs through a person centred approach

• To support households during their stay in temporary accommodation

• To assist households to settle into permanent accommodation

• To minimise the incidences of repeat homelessness

• To promote and assist successful independent living.
