Volunteering with CAB is interesting, friendly and very worthwhile. Full training and support is given so no formal qualifications or experience are required. The staff at each of the three CAB offices in West Dunbartonshire (Alexandria, Dumbarton and Clydebank) offers new trainees daily support within a very friendly environment.
All sorts of people volunteer as CAB advisors and provide free, confidential, independent and impartial advice. There are some things Bureau Advisors have in common though. CAB Advisors:
-
Good listeners
-
Work well in teams
-
Can read and write English, and do basic arithmetic
-
Have basic computer skills
-
Are open minded and don’t judge people or their circumstances
-
Enjoy helping all kinds of people
-
Are prepared to commit to at least six hours each week
Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland
If you want to get involved and volunteer with us, we will provide you with training and support to make sure that you will feel confident and comfortable in your role.
No matter how much time you can give, we have a volunteer role that will suit.
You can volunteer as much as you like, or as a one-off at an event. We have volunteers who give us their time on the same day each week, and we have others who give us a couple of hours once a month.
The amount of time that you give is entirely up to you. For certain roles we look for a longer commitment based on the amount of training that you undertake.
Volunteer with us and give your time to help others, discover new opportunities and make new friends.
